Logie Country House was built in 1680, on estate lands recorded as far back as 1492. Set in Aberdeenshire in north-east Scotland, the house has 18 bedrooms sleeping around 50 guests, a private ballroom, indoor heated swimming pool, two outdoor hot tubs and beautiful woodland and riverside grounds with views towards Bennachie.
For American couples, that means much more than flying to Scotland for a wedding ceremony. Your family and friends can stay together at Logie, settle into the house and enjoy several days in Scotland together.

🏰 Dreaming of a Scottish Castle Wedding?
A Scottish castle wedding is understandably high on the wish list for many American couples.
Logie gives you the history, atmosphere and privacy people picture when they imagine getting married in Scotland. The house was built in 1680, on estate lands recorded as far back as 1492, with open fires, historic character, beautiful rooms to gather in and acres of woodland and riverside grounds to explore.

Across from the house is our private, purpose-built ballroom for up to 160 day guests. It is air-conditioned and soundproofed, with the bar, dance floor and celebration all together in one room.
And yes, there are Highland cows too.
💻 Plan Your Scottish Wedding From America
You can plan your wedding at Logie from the USA, so much of the detail can already be organised before you arrive in Scotland.
Our wedding planners will get to know what you actually want, talk everything through with you by video and email, and help you shape the wedding from thousands of miles away.
They know Logie inside out and can put you in touch with photographers, florists, celebrants, musicians, transport providers and other suppliers who already know the house and how weddings work here.
Hudsons Catering, who have worked with Logie for many years, provide the wedding-day catering and can tailor the food to what you would like.
For drinks on the wedding day, you can use the Hudsons bar, where prices are comparable to a good pub, or bring your own drinks and pay corkage.
By the time you arrive in Scotland, Logie can already feel familiar. You will know the house, understand how the wedding will work and have the main arrangements in place, so you can arrive and start enjoying it.

🛏️ Keep Your Family and Friends Together at Logie
One of the loveliest parts of a destination wedding is having so many of your favourite people together in one place.
Logie has 18 bedrooms sleeping around 50 guests, including around 15 ensuite bedrooms and wheelchair-accessible accommodation off the courtyard.
Your guests can wake up together, have breakfast together, use the swimming pool and hot tubs, wander through the grounds and gather around the fires in the evening.
It makes the wedding feel less like an event everyone attends and much more like a few wonderful days everyone shares.
👀 We May Have Even More Accommodation From September 2027
We may also have the neighbouring Coach House available from around September 2027, just a one-minute walk from Logie.
If our plans go ahead, the Coach House is expected to provide 6 additional bedrooms sleeping around 12 guests.
This is not yet confirmed, so please do not rely on the Coach House when making accommodation plans until we have confirmed availability.

✈️ Travelling From the USA to Logie
Logie is approximately 25 minutes from Aberdeen International Airport, so the final part of the journey is refreshingly short once you reach north-east Scotland.
Aberdeen connects with major UK and European hubs, making it straightforward to continue your journey to Aberdeenshire after arriving in Britain or Europe.
Some guests choose to travel through Edinburgh or Glasgow and make the journey north part of a wider Scottish holiday.
Your guests can build a proper trip around the wedding too: castles, whisky distilleries, golf, countryside and the Highlands can all become part of their time in Scotland.

📜 Can Americans Legally Get Married in Scotland?
Yes. American couples can legally marry in Scotland, provided they complete the required Scottish marriage paperwork and meet the relevant UK immigration requirements.
You will need to submit marriage notice forms and the required documents to the local registrar before the ceremony. Non-UK nationals may need to provide additional documentation.
If you are travelling to the UK specifically to get married and are not planning to settle here afterwards, you should also check whether you require a Marriage Visitor visa. The exact requirement depends on your immigration status, so use the official guidance rather than relying on general wedding websites.

Logie offers a 2-day midweek wedding and a 3-day weekend wedding. The 2-day option gives you a shorter multi-day celebration, while our 3-day wedding gives you an entire day together after the wedding itself.

Day 3 – Stay, Relax and Enjoy It 😎

Day 4 – Check Out

You can add an extra night before your normal wedding stay and have full access to the entire house from 9.00 pm the evening before.
That gives the guests staying at Logie another night together before the main wedding stay begins and can be particularly useful after a long journey from the USA.

Logie’s venue hire varies depending on the time of year and whether you choose a midweek or weekend wedding.
