We had the honour and pleasure of hosting the fairytale wedding of Louise and Craig Paterson recently. This was certainly a day to remember, which came very close to never happening!
Craig was shot in the head by a sniper during a firefight with the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2013. He survived the jaw-dropping ordeal thanks for Michelle Ping, a Royal Navy reservist who braved the enemy fire to shield him and administer first aid.
Craig spent three days in a coma in Kandahar before being flown back to Birmingham in the UK. Doctors initially thought that Craig would not make it, but he’s a fighter and battled his way back from the brink of death. He spend a month in hospital before being transferred to military rehabilitation in Surry for seven months.
Craig and Louise met at Inverurie Academy, Aberdeenshire, just up the road from us. The two sweethearts married in a fairytale wedding at Logie Country House.
This beautiful photo of the two of them kissing in the summer sun in our courtyard sums up their wedding weekend. Surrounded by all of their closest friends and family, what better way to celebrate life 🙂
