Castle Fyvie
Castle Huntly
Spritual home of Clan Gordon
Huntly Castle lies in the green heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside. It is a noble ruin in a beautiful setting, remarkable both for the quality of its architecture and for its eventful history.
The earls of Fife built the original stronghold, the Peel of Strathbogie, around 1190, to guard the crossing-point where the rivers Bogie and Deveron meet. But it was the mighty Gordons who made the stronghold their own from the 14th century and renamed it Huntly Castle.
The surviving remains tell the story of the development of the castle in Scotland, from the motte and bailey of the 12th century, through the tower house of the later Middle Ages, to the stately stone palace of the Jacobean era.

Distillery Glen Garioch
The Garioch – pronounced ‘Geery’ – is a tract of richly fertile land, some 150 square miles in extent, bounded on every side by rolling hills. The quaint market town of Oldmeldrum, where stands Glen Garioch Distillery, is on its easterly border, some eighteen miles north-west of Aberdeen.
The district was known as ‘The Granary of Aberdeenshire’. Cereal crops have been abundant here for over a thousand years, while the crystal springs which supply Oldmeldrum made the town famous for its beer. So it is not surprising that Glen Garioch Distillery was established as early as 1797 – one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland.

Golf Club Insch
The game of golf in Insch was first recorded before World War I, with the course being laid around Dunnideer Hill. It was then moved to its present location around 1923 where it existed until 1940, when the ground was seconded by the War Department for use as a grenade range.
Golf was absent in Insch until a committee was formed in 1977 to provide the village with such a facility. A nine-hole course was built by voluntary labour along Valentine Burn and was reopened for play in 1982. The club expanded further in 1987, when an innovative clubhouse facility - complete with changing rooms, office, bar, cafe and dance floor - was provided from the remnants of temporary accommodation for a local school.
Golf Club Inverurie
Inverurie Golf Club is located in the Grampian region of Scotland. The course layout has changed and developed over the years since the golf club was established in 1923 and now the Inverurie club members have a well established course which poses a pleasant, interesting challenge to all standards of golfer. There are parkland holes to give an open varied start, a series of shorter holes around the turn which demand accurate iron play, followed by a testing, picturesque, tree lined section to finish.
The score card shows a par of 69 with a standard scratch of 68. The medal yardage for men is 5664 yards. The ladies course yardage has recently been extended to 5167 yards with a par of 70 and a 71 standard scratch.
There is a welcoming clubhouse where the bar and catering facilities (snacks or meals) are available all year.
The clubhouse has recently undergone a major extension. This provides a larger bar and dining area along with a separate visitor changing room. Member's locker rooms are much better and the pro's shop is incorporated into the main clubhouse. The extension was officially opened in June 2004 with bar, kitchen and dining area fully operational along with new balcony available for any sunny day. We trust you will enjoy the new facilities!

For golfers, there are few more breathtaking sights - in summer or winter - than the distant, majestic, eastern flank of Bennachie, as you send a drive straight towards it from Oldmeldrum's elevated 6th tee.
A par 70 course, Oldmeldrum currently is just over 6,000 yards in length. It's fairways, greens, areas of rough and water hazards are a challenge for every level of golfer

Theatre Aberdeen
The Theatre, which is grade A-listed, originally opened in 1906. It was designed by the architect Frank Matcham who was responsible for a number of great theatres across the United Kingdom including The Kings Theatre in Glasgow, The Hackney Empire, London and the famous Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
The project is the biggest refurbishment project in the theatre’s 99-year history and is the largest granite construction in the city in recent years. It will breathe new life into the grand Edwardian building and will ensure it continues to attract a wide range of theatre productions.
The £7.8 million five-storey redevelopment will bring the theatre to life day and night. Front-of-house facilities have been completely modernised by revamping bars and toilets and by the addition of a restaurant, coffee shop and corporate hospitality area. The extension also makes the building fully accessible to theatre-goers with special needs. Technical and audio-visual equipment has been improved, with a new Green room for performers, upgraded dressing rooms and a purpose-built rehearsal and education area.
